It seems a certainty now that my children will not be shifting their affections from music and the humanities to that of science. Nope, not a chance. The reason is simple: they went to a shark dissection class today. My eldest entered the car complaining of the smell and the burning sensation in her eyes and her general displeasure of the whole business. My middle daughter began to reapply hand sanitizer after having assured me that she washed her hands numerous times there and also used their sanitizer. She repeatedly applied sanitizer on the long drive home muttering under her breath, "unclean, unclean". Sitting in silence was my youngest daughter, who at 13 isn't quite so very young. After hearing no comments or anything else from her, I had to ask if she had been traumatized by the whole sordid affair. She assured me that she wasn't but had no further comment. I am not convinced.
The end of the story is that we will continue with our current homeschool focus without having to consider adding any AP or elective sciences.

I am lol! We are right there with you. My 10 yo did a cricket dissection a couple of weeks ago and was fairly disgusted by that!
