mishmash

Snarfle: our family's made-up word for what the dog does when he is over-doing the dog sniff thing with an item or generally being intrusive/obnoxious with his olfactory system

lolcat: mez b now lurnin how teh kitteh b sezin wurdz n stuf : w00t (I also just read an excerpt of Beowulf called Beokitteh written in lolcat- it was awfully amusing and oh, so very wrong)

Bing: as in Mr. Crosby. My girls were born 50 years too late. They swoon for the crooner.

Recitals/Lessons: of which we have way more than our fair share this week

MRE: my father had one he kept from his tour in Vietnam 40 years ago. He let us open it on Thanksgiving and we tasted 40 year old crackers. We opted not to try the ham omelette. GAH!

Amazon: did all our Christmas shopping online last Friday. I don't do crowds.

Bede: the Venerable, wrote: The Ecclesiastical History of the English speaking people. I am three-fourths through it and it is wonderful.

The Beowolf sounds awesome. I am thinking it's going to be a Xmas gift for my oldest! And Bede sounds great. I'm adding it to my own list!

Pretty Good

There once was a pretty good student,

Who sat in a pretty good class;
Who was taught by a pretty good teacher,
Who always let pretty good pass-

He wasn’t terrific at reading,
He wasn’t a whizbang at math;
But for him education was leading,
Straight down a pretty good path.

He didn’t find school too exciting,
But he wanted to do pretty well;
And he did have some trouble with writing,
and no one had taught him to spell.

When doing arithmatic problems,
Pretty good was regarded as fine-
